HISTORY PENCAK SILAT & IPSI
Pencak Silat
Pencak Silat is a martial art that has its roots in Malay families. This martial art is found in Brunei, the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and the countries bordering the ethnic Malay. Many historians claim that martial arts was first found in Riau on Srivijaya kingdom era to the VII century, although in rough shape. Malay martial art was later spread throughout the area of Srivijaya, the Malay Peninsula and the island of Java.
